Geotechnical Hazard Assessment

Early evaluation of geotechnical and geologic hazards for critical infrastructure and complex sites, supported by decades of experience with challenging ground conditions. We assess expansive, collapsible, compressible, weak, and saturated soils; undocumented fill; shallow groundwater; slope instability; and seismic and liquefaction hazards.

We provide practical risk-mitigation recommendations and, when performance monitoring is warranted, develop instrumentation programs using piezometers and inclinometers.

Ground Improvement & Foundation Solutions

When existing subsurface conditions cannot safely and economically support the proposed development, we evaluate specialized ground improvement and foundation support solutions. These may include vibrocompaction, vibroreplacement stone columns, rigid inclusions, and, where appropriate, continuous flight auger (CFA) piles.

We compare feasible alternatives based on cost, schedule, constructability, bearing capacity, settlement performance, and compatibility with the proposed structure. Our services may include design recommendations and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for ground improvement systems. QA/QC activities may include reviewing contractor submittals, test sections, installation records, field test results, acceptance criteria, and verification of system performance.
